Dr Charlie Knight

Charlie Knight holds a PhD from the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations at the University of Southampton where he remains an Honorary Fellow. He is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Languages, Cultures, and Societies at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and at the Centre for German-Jewish Studies at the Weidenfeld Institute, University of Sussex. Charlie is author of numerous articles on German-Jewish and Holocaust history, and is the co-editor on a number of special issues and edited collections including: (with Barnabas Balint) ‘Transnational Holocaust Studies in History and Memory’ in Holocaust Studies; (with Daniela Ozacky-Stern and Haim Sperber) ‘Letters as Ego-Documents in Jewish History and Historiography’ in Jewish Culture and History; and the edited collection Holocaust Letters: Methodologies, Cases, and Reflections (Bloomsbury, 2026), with Clara Dijkstra, Sandra Lipner, and Christine Schmidt.
