Forging Israeli Ashkenazi Identity through Synagogue Music - Ohel Nehama in Jerusalem as a Case-Study
Amalia Kedem’s ethnomusicological work concentrates around the music found in Israeli Ashkenazi synagogues and the social and ideological motivations behind the choice of that music. She taught Jewish music in various academic institutions and lectures on related topics. She has been working as an archivist and cataloguer at the National Library of Israel’s music department since 2008.
