The Mikveh as a Women’s Ritual space in an age of transition, 1870-1939
Anna Berezowska is PhD student at the Taube Department of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław. She is currently working on the PhD project, under the supervision of Prof. Joanna Degler (Lisek), with the working title “Mikveh as a women’s space in Jewish literature, tradition and architecture”. She graduated from Art History (2016) and Archeology (2019) and the Centre of Jewish Languages and Culture (2014) at Wrocław University. In 2020 as an Amos Oz fellow, she graduated One Year Program of Jewish Studies at Paideia – the European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden. She was also a scholarship holder of the Medem Library in Paris (2021) and a fellow of “Sandwich” doctoral Scholarship at Bar Ilan University.
