The Third Generations: Grandchildren of Holocaust Survivors, Grandchildren of Perpetrators and Holocaust Memory
Tamar Aizenberg is a PhD Candidate in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University (Waltham, MA). Her dissertation is about grandchildren of Holocaust survivors and grandchildren of Holocaust perpetrators in several countries, focusing on what they know about their family history, how they have learned this information, and what they do with it. Previously, Tamar completed her Master’s degree in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis and her Bachelor’s degree in History and Jewish Studies at Williams College. She has held a variety of research fellowships in Austria, Germany, the UK, and the US. Tamar is also the granddaughter of a Hungarian Jewish Holocaust survivor.
