A Jewish Girl in Shanghai (2010) is set in Shanghai’s “Little Vienna” Ghetto, where some 30,000 Jewish refugees sought shelter from Nazi persecution during WWII. Without their parents and cared for by a local family, Jewish siblings Rina and her brother Mishalli form a strong friendship with A-Gen, an orphaned Chinese boy. Together they encounter many adventures and teach each other about their distant worlds.  As Shanghai struggles beneath its own cruelly portrayed Japanese occupation, the children must also face the uncertainty concerning the fate of Rina and Mishalli's parents in Europe.

A Jewish Girl in Shanghai is based on Wu Lin’s graphic novel of the same name. It was adapted into a traditional animated film by the renowned Shanghai Animation Film Studio was internationally very well received and nominated for awards in China and Israel.
