Jewish and Christian Aggadic Traditions about Rabbi Yehoshua Ben Levi:From Late Antiquity to the Medieval Period
Amitai Glass Stegmann’s dissertation researched Rabbi Yehoshua Ben Levi᾽s stories that have been documented and preserved in Hebrew sources and independent Latin texts during the medieval period. Through his work, he seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the intricate dynamics between Jewish and Christian communities in Medieval Christendom and how Rabbinic literature served as a platform for responding to the dominant Christian discourse and vis versa at the religious politic of the era.
